Where is Jimmy? Jimmy is in the kitchen.
The name of the site is a nod to the cult line from French school English textbooks, “Brian is in the kitchen”. Except here, I’m the one in the kitchen — and I spend a lot of time there.
This site is my recipe notebook: the ones I make over and over, the ones people keep asking me for, and the ones that took me a while to get just right. Every one of them has been cooked at home, in a normal kitchen, with normal equipment.
How I write my recipes
- Precise quantities that adjust to the number of people in one click.
- Short steps, in the order you actually do them.
- A tip at the end when there’s a pitfall to avoid.
What about the gear?
In the Kitchen tools & tips section, I give my take on what I use: frying pans, Dutch ovens, knives… No sponsored links, no free products: just what works and what isn’t worth the money.
